Is it normal for baby’s heart rate to drop multiple times during labor?

I was induced but during labor my baby’s heart rate would keep dropping so nurses would come running in telling me to change positions. This happened at least ten times and I was told that this was normal and happened all the time. I really couldn’t believe it was a normal thing   So I’m just wondering... did you experience your baby’s heart rate dropping multiple times during labor?

I ended up having a c section for this exact reason. I was in labor for for roughly 16 hours and it just got too risky for the bambino.

It’s normal yes. They tend to drop during contractions but should always come back up afterwords.

It’s normal to an extent. If it doesn’t come back up or if it drops too low there could be a problem. But it is generally expected during contractions. My son’s got way too low when I was pushing and they had to use the vacuum to get him out because he wasn’t recovering.
