Hey everyone,

What are you doing with visitors when your baby is born? Are you doing hospital visitors or waiting until you have settled at home?

We have said if all is straight forward we will invite our parents and siblings to visit in the hospital the day after the baby is born if I stay overnight, or if we go home the day the baby is born to also have them visit the day after. I think on the first day it would be nice to try and enjoy our baby alone and maybe get some rest lol!

My husband gets 2 weeks paternity leave and we will get the midwife in daily I think for 10 days so would try to have only a small number of visitors during his paternity like a few closest friends. We have said that with any extended family/cousins/aunts/uncles, friends that aren’t best friends, we would like them to visit after my husband goes back to work to avoid constant visits during his 2 weeks at home with us and also time for us to get used to being new parents.

I have been worried about the number of visitors we might get having heard from other people about their experiences with lots of visitors just dropping by or being offended if they aren’t invited etc, I have also been told I should just accept it 😔 but I was thinking staggering it over time would be better for us?
