Question

When does everyone plan on starting Baby on some puréed food and oatmeal? Next week our little girl will be 4 months. I don’t want to start her just yet but I dk how much longer to wait.

Anytime between 4 months and 6 months is normal. It depends if you’re breastfeeding or not. Formula fed babies can more often start at 4 months than those being breastfed from what I’ve heard.
You just gotta see if your baby seem interested and/or ready. It’s not like they need a full meal or even more than a spoonful a day in the beginning. 
I’m breastfeeding but I’m hoping to introduce some baby porridge at around 5 months.

4 months is far too early and purees and oatmeal don't help them learn to eat. We did baby-led weaning starting at 6 months.

Gut isn't ready until 4-6, emphasis on the 6 end if baby will let you wait 😂
And baby oatmeal and porridge are honestly the worst things you can start them on. I would look more at purees if that's your preference!  We did finger foods right away and skipped that step; but that's a decision for you and baby

My girl’s pediatrician said we’ll start the conversation about foods at her 4-month appointment. I plan to go straight to finger foods and skip the puréed stuff.
