Tips for a baby that hates tummy time?

Is it really necessary? Even when I put her on my chest she screams and cries the whole time. I need help y’all I feel like an awful mother for making her do it but at the same time I feel awful if I don’t do it.

Tummy time strengthens the neck, arm, and back muscles which are necessary for rolling over, sitting up, and crawling, which all lead to walking. Most babies hate it in the beginning. My daughter is 2 months old and still not a fan, but we do a few minutes in the morning, and then again in the afternoon and evening. Sometimes, she is on my chest, and other times I use a boppy pillow to prop her up, and I make eye contact with her and show her toys. Once they realize that it allows them to look around, they become more receptive.

Nope- almost every baby I've know despises it (I work with several and have my own, as well as friends'). It's new, hard work, and not the normal snuggly comfort their used to. She'll get used to it eventually you've just got to stick with it in small durations at first.

It's necessary. Just keep trying and if baby cries then just try again tomorrow. Eventually they'll figure it out.
