Illotycin ointment in newborns eyes

So I’ve been reading a lot about illotycin in newborns eyes, a lot of woman say it’s absolutely not needed because they don’t have chlamydia/Gonorrhea, but from what I’ve been taught over the years it’s to prevent much much more than just those STD infections, I’ve been taught it also fights bacteria that are found in the vagina rectum area, what do you mothers think and what will you be deciding? Also please do not bash any other mother for her choice this can simply be an educate each other post or opinion post but don’t call someone a horrible mother for not wanting something done to her child
