Swollen feet & ankles

Okay today I was off work because I had a doc appointment & when I got home I noticed my feet & ankles are really swollen. Which is odd because I haven’t seen this my whole pregnancy, even days I work they don’t ever swell but today they did. I’m 36 weeks. Can anyone tell me what this means?
