First prenatal but no ultrasound??

So I have my first prenatal appointment on Monday,  but I still haven't had an ultrasound yet. They haven't even mentioned anything about it. Is this normal?? 
My first appointment I will be close to my 8 week mark.
When do people usually have their first ultrasound?

It depends on your OB's policy. Mine prefers scheduling patients for a dating ultrasound as early as 6 weeks, but I'm going for my first appointment on Tuesday at 5 weeks 5 days, and I insisted when I was on the phone with the receptionist that I was not ready for the ultrasound yet! I would rather wait until at least 8 weeks so I can see my baby. 😊

With my first pregnancy, my doctor didn’t do an ultrasound until I was 20 weeks. I had a second doctor with my second pregnancy & he did ultrasounds at the first appointment. Just depends on your doctor.

I go in tomorrow for my visit that was supposed to be at 7 weeks next Tuesday, but we will be on vacation. They’re doing my first ultrasound vaginally and stated I should fingers crossed be able to hopefully hear the faint heartbeat! (I’ll be 6+3)

A lot of doctors won't do them until 20 weeks, but it varies. Some do a dating ultrasound before that, some don't unless there are complications.

Truthfully if I didn't bug them at 18-20 weeks lol but I bug them for one earlier
