Late period and sharp pain

So, I'm used to late/early/inconsistent periods. However, the last time I was this late (13 days), I was then pregnant with twins and had a miscarriage. I understand my late period could be to stress, and THAT feeling I have plenty of. We had to evict some tenants, and let's just say it's been a disgusting and difficult process. But I've also been having terrible pain around my left ovary. I thought at first maybe my body was playing tricks and I've been ovulating late. But the past few times I've had sex I've bled a little. Again, not a lot to make me think I'm on my period, but enough that I'm beginning to be concerned. I'm seeing a new doc who can't see me until November. Has anyone else ever had something similar that can advise me? Do you think I should go to a ER, because that I can't really afford :/
