Labor- Epidural or Nothing?

This is my third baby. I’m curious if those if you moms that have done it all natural with no drugs, to share your experience with me. I’m trying to decide whether to have the epidural again or go through it all. What was it like? Please and thank you. 😊

I had my son natural - no epidural and I had to be given pitocin to speed things up. It HURT and it was so hard. There were times I thought I wouldn’t make it BUT I did and it was so rewarding! I wouldn’t have changed a thing (except not to be given pitocin!!)

I’ve had 3 babies (1 in a birth center & 2 at home) and I am planning our 3rd home birth! It’s a mental game but once that baby is in your arms, you forget about what you went through. It’s helpful to be very prepared your first time around, by reading books, taking a childbirth class that supports natural birth and hiring a doula.

I had an all natural birth with my first.   Laboring in the tub really helped and breathing out during each contraction.  By the time I had finished breathing out slowly, the contraction was over.  You also tell yourself, my body can do anything for one minute.  
Relaxing my pelvis as my midwife advised really helped.  
Also, I wasn’t induced or anything,  (I gave birth at 42 weeks) so my labor happened gradually and at a rate my body could handle.  If you’re induced, the labor is more intense and comes on much quicker, so women usually request epidurals.

Having a home birth it was my only option to do all natural and I would not change that for the world. I used a TENS labor machine and it was GOLD! I had a pool that helped me relax as well.

I've had both as well. My first was at the hospital with an epidural and my second was a home birth. It was really, really hard. I wanted to give up right before I started pushing because it hurt so bad, but I'm doing all natural home birth again. I loved it even though it hurt so bad lol.

My last baby was born about an hour after we got to the hospital. No painkillers or anything just all fours on the bed. Of the four labours I've been through this is the one I often flippantly say..."I would so that again, no problem." 
That said it's an individual decision best made with advice for health proffesionals and your own intuition :)

I had a c section with my first and im giving birth fully natural this time! I have a brain condition that made my drs want me to have a c section under general anesthetic. They dont want me to push and i definitely cant have epidurals or spinals. So its all or nothing! I am convinced and fully prepared for the risks of me having an all natural birth. I am ready to be in control of my pushing. I dont feel nervous! Yet anyways hahaha

I’ve done it both ways! And honestly my last baby I wanted so bad to do it natural but I ended up having to be induced and so the night before my induction I literally didn’t sleep all night had to be at the hospital at 7 am. So I did all the laundry and prepared for my sons arrival. While waiting on him to come I was about a 4 they upped my pitocin and I asked for the epidural so I could get a couple hours sleep before he came! I got the epidural at 1pm and ended up giving birth at 2:15pm(obviously pointless to get it after all). My first one I was 16 and my mom had said it was best for me to so I did! I was only 105 with an 8lb baby which I’m glad I did at that age but then again they ended up taking it out when I was pushing and he got stuck so I ended up pushing naturally with him. My second I got to the hospital and 20 min later was holding my baby so that one was 100% natural. My 3rd baby I did mostly natural they did have to induce me after my doc broke my water cause I quit contracting but they gave me the drip line. In which I gave birth with it can’t say it was the most effective pain free I felt it only worked for about 20 min at a time and given only so much. This baby I don’t plan on going to the hospital until I’m almost ready to push!!!
