Is a 13 year age gap in a relationship too big?

I am “seeing” this guy who is 36 (I am 23). We get along great and I actually really do like him. I will say though that I’m worried about the age difference in a long term relationship between us. ALSO he has a 16 year old daughter. I am genuinely curious to know if this is something I should continue to pursue. He’s a great guy and I really like him, but I still feel a bit weird about the whole situation. Some advice would be great!

That's roughly the same age difference my partner and I have (I'm 23, he'll be 36 in November). I guess the major difference for us, though, is his daughter is only 5.
The age difference itself isn't necessarily going to be an issue. Yes, you are going to be less mature about certain things, and he will fail to connect with you on certain levels. But if you're aware of these things and forgiving of each other, it's nothing you two can't work through.
I'd be most concerned about his daughter, honestly. You're closer in age to her than you are to her father, and that's bound to make for a difficult dynamic. You can't expect to take on any sort of parental role, and at the same time you can't really be her friend if you're in a relationship with her dad. She will probably be resistant to the entire thing. And truthfully, you have to ask yourself if you're mature enough and ready to deal with all that. You were a teenager not too long ago; are you prepared for more teenaged drama?

You're both adults so the age difference is fine. I'd be very uncomfortable with his daughter being a teenager though. I'm sure she wouldn't be comfortable either.

Age doesn’t matter but an imbalanced power dynamic absolutely does. For the majority of people, 23 and 36 are very different places in life. If you are uncomfortable, then there you go. Listen to your instincts.

age can play a big toll in some relationships. I know someone who who was 20 and married a 40 year old, few years later they divorced. They we're just in different stages of life. 
same for a 40 year old who was married to a 70 year old I also know. age played a factor in their divorce. 
I also know people with a 7-10 year different and they are doing great! 
in your case I would just like think of his  daughters feelings, how does she like it? my ex-boyfriends dad dated someone the same age as us, she was in fact a month younger than his oldest. both boys acted fine but you could tell it bothered them.

Im nearly 36 and the last guy i had a date with is 23... it didn’t work out because of the unpredictable hours he works. Age had nothing to do with it
