Getting your SO or husband to do a Semen analysis like pulling teeth?!?

So my SO has been saying for a year that’s he is going to schedule his appointment for his semen analysis! I know that it can be hard for men to think they might be the problem! But holy cow I’m over here struggling to keep my **ish together every month and not have a metal breakdown because I can’t seem to get pregnant for the life of me! After 3 years of trying naturally!! Granted I do have PCOS and am on Metformin but my OBGYN won’t move forward with a treatment plan until he gets tested! Every time I bring it up I cry and he gets upset and says he’s going to do it and the he wants kids! 
Anyone else in this same boat?!?

They say the grief that accompanies finding out you’re infertile is on par with losing a parent so I would imagine they’re scared of what they’ll find maybe collecting at home and dropping it off & just going in for a consult if there is an issue would be less uncomfortable

Is he able to do it at home?  If not, can you call around and go to a clinic that allows you to collect at home then take it in? That might make him feel more comfortable??  That’s what my husband did, but I still was the one to take the cup into the clinic (and I’m glad I did because he would have felt so awkward—it was a small, silent waiting room with 2 couples in there😅)

My hubby is the same. I may have pcos so have to see a specialist. I am booking a day off work to deliver the precious arsenal to the lab.

In a very similar situation after three years I finally received the prescription for his semen analysis I told him about it he was hesitant to go I also didn’t wanna make him feel uncomfortable or make him do something he was feeling weird about so I just brought it up every once in a while but nothing too much not too serious kind of gave up to be honest with you and a year later here we are and his appointment is October 4 he just said the last time I brought it up OK I’m ready don’t give up hope

In the exact same boat, however last time I brought it up it ended in a huge argument. I have PCOS as well but have been having regular cycles for months. Miscarried back in April of last year and here were are still nothing. :(      
Dr said I’ll get my tubes tested this cycle too but I really hope my hubby decides to do the test for me just so we know. 😩😩😩😩

I didn’t have any problems my husband has been on board since we started seeing the RE March 2017 after 6 rounds letrozole and TI and 3 iui’s with letrozole and 3 iui’s with letrozole + gonal-f 3 miscarriages we’re doing IVf best of luck to you

Ironically where I am, I have to get the husband an appointment with doctors orders from my doctor first; they won't let him go on his own. So I'll be the one just telling him what time to show up - of course together we would go. I wonder if your husband would be more excited about it if you offered to "do it for him"... or get one of those special condoms they sell.... team effort! 😉

Not really, I’ve told my husband that is going to have to be done for the next round of infertility testing and he’s fine with it. It’s like I’m going through all this testing and he understands that he’s going to need to do this one thing too. I guess I don’t really understand men who can watch their wife go trough it all and refuse to do one simple test
