Not very religious..rant

I was raised Catholic by my catholic adoptive parents. My dad is like a super catholic individual and doesn’t understand my reasoning for walking away from religion.

Lemme explain.

I recently had a discussion with someone about adoptive children. They were upset because the adoptive parents were going to vaccinate the child. But it’s their child at that point, they can do whatever they want.

This person then told me that the child is not theirs because they didn’t carry it for nine months or birth it.

So...what? I was adopted. Does that not make me the child of my adoptive parents?

It’s a highly ignorant and insensitive thing to say to people who cannot naturally have children.

They then proceeded to say that Christians shouldn’t vaccinate their kids and it’s a sin to do so.

More reasons for me to walk away from religion. Highly ignorant.

That’s just the icing on the cake compared to the other things. Like kids out of marriage, I have two. Piercings, I have 10. Tattoos, I have 7. Gay marriage, I don’t think is wrong.

All the little things. Makes me not want to hear it. And my dad just doesn’t understand me. That’s okay, because he doesn’t have to. But I wish he’d stop trying to force religion down my throat.

As for raising my children to be religious, I don’t know what I want to do. Is there a God? Maybe. Should they be forced to believe in him? No.

Idk y’all...it’s already been a wild Friday for me 🤦🏻‍♀️
