Would having a hot pack help labor?

FTM here, 35 wks now. I’m thinking since I’ve heard a hot shower helps labor pain, would a hot pack help also? To put on the back for example? 
There are electric hot packs on amazon, I just don’t want to buy a useless thing if it won’t help ...

I had my electric heating pad packed but I didn't use it until after my delivery. I had the chills so bad after I had my baby, the heat pad helped immensely. Im glad I took it.

I had back labor so I had one but my hospital supplied it.

My hospital had hot packs. I didn’t use one during labor, but found it helped the cramping in the days after birth. They gave me a few of the single use thermacare heat wraps. I bet if you asked your OB they might know! Good luck!

Yes it would help. Be sure it is something allowed at the hospital. For example my hospital prohibits all heat stuff. No microwave rice sock. No pocket warmers. No electric heat pads. Only thing we can use is hot water.
