Hey all,

So my husband and I were watching World of Dance this morning with Misty Copeland and he asked who she was, and I said she was the first black woman to be a principal dancer at ABT. Then he goes, “she’s not black! She’s obviously mixed!” I’m like... okay... she’s black... she can call herself black, why would you say that? I’m Korean and my husband is white, so our kids will be mixed but I wouldn’t go around calling them white even though they’ll be biracial. Is that weird?

How do people determine what to call themselves?
