Flu Shots???

Question

How many are getting flu shots before there babies are born in October???? I already have my daughter schedule to have one & I typically get one every year too but my dr really hasn’t said much to me about getting one while pregnant. And is it safe for baby?? Really haven’t read up on it. Thoughts???

Absolutely. The immunity can transfer over while in utero and being due right in the middle of flu season I want to give her every chance in fighting infection. Babies can’t get flu shot until six months otherwise. I work in healthcare, general surgery PA, and people die every year from the flu-babies and elderly are the most vulnerable. Definitely recommend getting it.

I'm getting 1. I literally just missed out last time cause I find out I was pregnant quite late and was still in shock mode.

I never got one before pregnancy and I don't plan on getting one now. I work in healthcare, and frequently our patients will have still gotten then flu even with the shot. Clean hands are always key to keep from getting sick!

I just got mine Friday (due October 6). I made my husband get one (and his TDAP because he was super late on getting it) a couple weeks ago.

I had the tdap a few weeks ago and had my flu shot on friday. Hubby got his last week. My daughters dr doesnt offer them until October though😡. and there have already been 3 confirmed cases of influenza in our practice where I work.

My OB suggests it (preservative free version only) because my youngest will be born directly in the flu season (November).  My 18 month old already had his, and my husband is getting his next month as well. 
 
But for it to pass a small amount to the baby, you need it before 36 weeks (my doctor office doesn’t receive the preservative free version until October when I’m 35 weeks...).

I’m not getting the flu shot. As they can cause miscarriage. I told my dr the reason I wont be getting the shot and they said ok. I  did get the tdap and that’s the only shot I’m requiring people around me and my baby to have.

I told my Dr I will get if at the hospital after delivery.  I did that with my sons delivery too.
