Is anyone entitled to...
Bit of a backstory before I get into the point;
My fiancé, my dad, and my dads bil started a contracting business together and so far it’s going well (except them working ridiculously more than necessary but that’s beyond the point). They had a rough day yesterday and I’m still unsure of what actually happened, my fiancé didn’t want to talk about it. All I know is that they thought they would finish yesterday and didn’t, and didn’t get off work until 10 pm. My dads girlfriend picked me up from work at 11 (they work an hour and a half away) so I was sitting at their house waiting for my fiancé. She asked me if I knew what happened & I didn’t. She said my dad didn’t want to talk about it either.
Here’s the point (still with some story); my dads gf felt that she was entitled to know what happened at work that day. She said “when he gets home I’m going to make him tell me. He can’t just keep secrets” and I was like “you can’t make him tell you, you’ll only make him want to tell you less. Just leave him be and when he’s ready to talk, he will” and she seems to think that because she’s the receptionist, she’s entitled to knowing what’s going on. I handle their finances. So the company bank account has my name on it as well, and I give them their portion of the money and put the rest in a general fund for supplies. So we’re both equally involved in the company, but not the labor side. I don’t feel entitled to know what happened, specifically, I just need to know when they’ll be getting paid so I can pay their taxes.
Does she have a right to know exactly what happened? Do I? Currently neither of us know the specifics, just that they’re a day over their bid as of today.
