But I NEVER go to sleep without brushing, and using listerine.

You don't have to floss all your teeth, just the ones you want to keep! 
You should at least floss once a day, night time is best, so you don't sleep with bacteria in between your teeth.
Buildup can cause your gums to recede and teeth to become unstable. Nevermind the whole decay and cavity thing lol.

I brush every night and floss every few days which is terrible. I hate it because I have a permanent retainer and I have to floss a certain way.

Yes, sometimes three times a day. Don't skip out on flossing y'all. Skipping at night is probably worse than any other time because you're just letting all the food particles hang out in your mouth, and the bacteria growth and plaque buildup just lead to bad breath, tooth decay, cavities, tartar, and gum disease. One minute of flossing twice a day isn't costing you anything. And if you're not brushing twice a day...  Please do so lol.

As horrible as it is to say, i just don't get a chance to anymore. If im still awake when hubby gets back from work i do but thats not until 1 am... itd be nice to have an extra arm, then i could manage to mom and take care of myself
