When to tell our parents

Hey all!
When did you tell your parents? We’re 5w5d and haven’t told anyone. I have no idea when to tell our parents....what did you do?

We told our parents the day after I tested positive, so like 4+1. I called my doctor to make an appointment thinking she'd send me for bloodwork to confirm but they didn't so I just gave in and told them. I think most of our family knows now and I'm only 5+3. I'm thinking we'll make it public after my first appointment which will be at 8 weeks.

During my last pregnancies my best friend knew the day of my positive test and was a great support and my parents and siblings found out at week 6, but then I miscarried. My other pregnancies I told my family and bestie again quickly because they were supporting me through my IVF cycles, which I miscarried again and again. Now I’m pregnant naturally again, so I haven’t told anyone at 6&1 now. I will try to hold off as long as I can but I see my sister at 8&3 so I’ll probably tell her then and she can keep a secret. I also have very perceptive friends and they will ask me why I’m not drinking wine at the next book club but I’ll be almost 10 weeks by then. I will try to hold off on telling my family when I see them in person for Thanksgiving 🙏🏻 and I’ll be 15 weeks by then. This is all wishful thinking, let’s see how my u/s goes on Friday!

I think you have to ask yourself, "who would I want to know if I had a miscarriage?" Because anyone you tell you're pregnant, you'll have to tell if you have a loss.  I found out I had a blighted ovum at 6-7 weeks with my first pregnancy, and I don't feel the need to share that with our families, especially not at the time.  Now that I'm pregnant again, I still feel the same.

We both told our mom immediately but are holding off until the 12 weeks to tell my father

I told my mom as soon as my test was positive. I was about 4 weeks lol.
Told my mom and siblings one day, aunts, uncles and grandparents the following day. We told his mom the day after that and then the rest of his family the day following. 
We did a social media announcement for distant relatives and friends around 10 weeks.
For #2 I plan on waiting until 10-12 weeks before telling family and waiting until we find out the gender before positing on social media (but there’s a chance I’ll change my mind on that part! Lol)
