Is it rude to ask for specific items at your baby shower?

My baby shower is in November, and I’m humming and hawing about whether to ask guests to ask me what specific items I will need/want for the baby. I’m a very picky and particular person, my friends and family know this, but more importantly I don’t want to end up with gifts I may have more than one item of, gifts I won’t end up using, gifts I won’t be able to find the space for and also tonnes of clothes!

I don’t want to sound obnoxious by asking, but I just find it easier for them to purchase items I can tick off of my list. Thanks.
