End Goal? (Read First)

While we all want to end racism in this group (obvi), I don’t know if we all have the same idea of what equality looks like.
Is equality the idea of being colorblind, that we no longer see race as pertaining to anything? To the point that we don’t even say “I’m  black/white/mixed/Latinx” 
Or is equality understanding that all of these races, while being seperate and having their own cultural identities, are equal to each other?
Or is it a mix? Something completely separate?

Why not recognize that people of color face different challenges and just listen to them about it instead of white people getting all fucking defensive every time the idea of systemic racism comes up?

You can recognise differences in race whilst still treating them as equals.

“Separate but equal” is a seriously loaded phrase. And in truth, though different races and cultures have different customs and experiences, where I live (US) there is a huge imbalance of power. You can say things are equal because they absolutely are not.

Separate but equal- is a terrible way to phrase it, but that seems the goal to me. Understand everyone has different experiences due to race and gender.  Then listen to the stories understanding we are all humans and worthy of fair treatment.

I think the end goal should be to celebrate our differences, not ignore them. Color-blind doesn't make sense because that ignores the real crux of it, which isn't color, it's about seeing and engaging with fellow human beings. 
Separate but equal will never work (it's 2018, do I really have to even say that??)

My idea of not being racist is just don’t be a piece of shit and don’t judge people on their race or culture.

I seriously don't understand racist people. We are all bloody HOMO SAPIENS with different coloured skin, different facial traits and characteristics, some are tall, some or short, some are fat, and some are skinny. At the end of the day we all have a head, two arms, two legs, two eyes, two ears, one heart, organs, a brain and about the same life expectancy... We are all human, and races mix, or races stick to their tribes, we are all normal and okay. The only thing that is not "normal" is racism!!
