Have you done an ancestry DNA test?? Read description.

Both my families are very mixed and I have always felt like an outsider. I am curious to do one of those ancestry dna tests. Has anyone here done it before? And for those who have, was it what you expected?

I did it a few years ago and I thought it was so neat.  I knew I was 50% Italian because my mom is 100%, but my dad's side was questionable.  It turns out I'm Italian (specifically Southern Italian), Irish/Scottish, English/Welsh, and a tiny bit French.  It's really neat to see on the website because it tells you the history of the regions and when your ancestors most likely migrated (to the US in my case).  And you can be matched up with DNA "matches" and it'll tell you if those people are probable 2nd cousins, 4th-6th cousins, and so on.  My husband also did it and it was very interesting what came up in his results.

My husband and I don’t need or want anything for Xmas from my parents so they are buying us each one. My husband is apparently full Asian but is 6 feet tall. There’s something else mixed in there 😂 with baby coming. I’m curious!

No, I'm curious but probably won't send the money. My SIL did one and the results were pretty obvious. I can't remember the exact percentages but it was a large percentage of black, a percentage of Asian (my husband is constantly mistaken for Asian) and little bits of European.

Both of my parents are mixed and I’ve always wondered what I was because they barely knew what they were mixed with as well, so I ended up doing the 23 and me ancestry DNA and I was in total shock and was just amazed by how much they could find and what all I was mixed with. I would definitely buy one if I were you! It’s worth the money.

I did a 23&me test last year and they updated their results. The sub-saharan African is not a surprise, nor is the causaian... But I found I had a pinch of east Asian, native American, southeast and south asian
