Did you use a baby walker ? Would you recommend using one ?

I don’t believe everything I read and ask my DR questions I am concerned about but saw this today (anyone else read ?) now I just wanna know what moms think!

Walkers like that are bad. It puts them in a weird position and can be detrimental to their development, especially because they also tend to start using those before they are truly ready to start walking. Push walkers I don’t see an issue with as long as they’re ready to try walking. A lot of the time babies who are starting to walk try pushing things around like that anyway so I don’t see what difference a push walker will make

AAP is trying to get walkers banned. Like stop production, take them all off the shelves. Not just because of the amount of kiddos being injured, but also because they teach kids to walk incorrectly. Forward and on tip toes. Using the wrong muscles. Personally, we decided no walkers. Exersaucer or activity station is ok (AAP). We actually have the gleeful sea exersaucer and in the month and a half that we've had it, shes only been in it 3 times for up to a max of 15 mins. Never unattended and never for extended periods of time.

I used one for my daughter, not every day and if I did use it I only had her in it for 30 min max while I was cooking or cleaning.

We have a walker but it doesn’t have wheels and it can’t move if that makes sense. It’s basically like a table that you set them in. Toys around the seat you put them in. And we like it!

Yes but he wasnt in it for a long period of time. But he loved it. He started walking unassisted at 10 months. So we only used it for about 3 months.

It’s fine to trust what you read from credible sources. Also, doctors can be not up to date, so it’s important to make sure their information is based on a credible and recent source, just like what you read. I’ve talked to physical therapists, chiropractors, and occupational therapists as well as read up on baby walkers and have decided to not use one with my daughter. She does have a push walker though.

My son didnt like his so we never used it. We honestly wouldnt have even tried if we werent gifted one.
