Anyone here lives in Colorado?

Question

Me and my bf is thinking on moving to Colorado in about 2 years. What’s it’s like? The cost of living? How much would rent be for an apartment or house? What kinds of cultures are there? What is it like Raising a family? Jobs? ETC. we are a black couple just to let you know.

I’m not much help but my aunt lives there & I visit often & its SOOO BEAUTIFUL! I would love to move there. I know they don’t regret moving at all & are doing very well for themselves out there if that helps at all

I don't live there currently but did for about 11 years. What part of Colorado are you thinking of moving to? The culture can vary quite a lot with different parts of the state, but in general people are very outdoorsy and active. Lots of dogs and biking and outdoor recreation. 
Housing is a lot pretty much no matter where you go. Denver, Fort Collins, and Boulder have really exploded in the last few years so housing has gone up even since I lived there. It's also crowded and traffic in and around the cities is getting atrocious. 
The weather is absolutely fantastic, best anywhere in the country in my opinion. You get all four seasons but tend to avoid the extremes (except if you live IN the mountains or the western slope/southwest parts of the state). And of course it's absolutely gorgeous. 
I loved my time there but I don't think I could ever move back just with how expensive and populated it's gotten.

Depending where rent is expensive. Around 1400 for a 2 bed if I’m Fort Collins, Longmont. Less in Greeley but more In Denver. Depends on what jobs and what experience you have.

Hey! We just moved to the Denver area..my husband is black, I’m Latina (puerto Tucson and Colombian). In all honesty, it’s been a difficult transition. We moved from San Diego, CA so we’re used to diversity. It’s not the same here. They’re definitely trying to make it “diverse”, but lack of implementation. I have a bachelors degree, great work experience, references and it’s been difficult to find employment. I’ve had the most racist and discriminatory comments made towards me during interview processes, it’s mind boggling. For example, I had one hiring manager blatantly say, “wow, I’m surprised to how well spoken you are!”
My daughter and I went up north to Colorado Springs one weekend and had an older couple randomly ask me if I’m “documented”. 
My husband recently separated from the military, has a degree and is currently attending a coding boot camp. He gets it too, but he has a thicker skin from being in the military. There are more diverse areas, in Aurora but depending on your lifestyle, it may not be where you want to be. 
In regards to housing, we have a 2 bed/2 bath for $1650. Im sure there are cheaper places, but again, it’s personal preference.
I’m not saying all of Colorado has been negative, it’s a beautiful state and wonderful place for outdoor activities. We have met some nice people in the process too. It’s just been an interesting experience so far lol
