I got my period while i’m on birth control

I started birth control pills 10 days ago. 4 days ago i was with my boyfriend and he fingered me and i believe my hymen broke because there was blood. The next day there was a little bit of blood and i heard that blood is expected for a few days after your hymen breaks. the next day i started getting cramps and my usual period symptoms and then my period came. i’m kinda confused and worried because this entire time i was on birth control and taking the active pills and i thought your period came once you take the inactive pills and i haven’t taken them. It’s not spotting it’s my full on period and i’m 3 days into my period and usually my period lasts for 5 days.
