Name Confession

All of my kids are named after video game characters and I'm not sorry.

Specifically from Castlevania, Final Fantasy, and Pokemon. But their full names have ties to other geeky things.

They're "normal" names, very subtle references that an ordinary person wouldn't know so it isn't like I've named my kid Pikachu or something.

My daughter knows her name's origins after asking her dad about it, since she spends about a half hour a day playing through some of the more age appropriate games he has been wanting to play with him.

Her full name means lady warrior of the stars. The first name by itself is a reference to one franchise, while her full name is a homage to the protagonist of Metroid. Just...craftily shoving that reference in there.

Will I ever tell the rest where their names really came from?

The world may never know.
