What to expect??

My first Csection was unplanned. 
Anyone had a planned Csection? If so, please share your experience because I want to know what to expect. I’m sort of nervous about the epidural again lol I’m such a chicken when it comes to needles

I've had two and will be having my third on October 1st. You go in and they have you put on a gown, give a urine sample, hook up an iv, ask medical questions, just routine things. Doctor will come in and talk to you and maybe your anesthesiologist. When it's time you'll go to the operating room and they'll ask you to sit down on the side of the bed and lean forward, the anesthesiologist will examine your back and you'll feel a pinch (initial numbing shot) then they'll insert the spinal. You'll feel a bit of pressure but no pain. After that they'll insert a catheter then after you're numb and they're set up they will start the csection. Your partner/support person will be getting dressed as you get your spinal and will join you by your head. You know how the rest goes. During the spinal if you're anxious you can just let them know, I was having anxiety and shaking really bad with my last so a sweet nurse came in front of me and held me steady and talked me through it. It helped so much having someone help me focus. Good luck!

You get a spinal with a CS and mine was planned and I truly enjoyed my birth experience. I am a whimp when it comes to needles and honestly the spinal was nothing. They give you a shot to numb which you just feel a little poke/pinch. Some people compare it to a bee sting. I have been stung before and I think a bee sting is WAY more painful. Then they give you the spinal which you don’t feel. You might feel a little pressure but it doesn’t hurt at all. That’s just my experience 😊

The only thing that is super weird is walking into the OR. The epidural is simple, they numb you first! Each hospital does something a little different as far as recovery time and procedures afterwards. If you know where you will be delivering you can call or try to take a tour and ask those kinds of questions there!

I had my 3rd c section 2 weeks ago. The  first 2 were an emergency and the 3rd was planned. It went ok. It took about 45 minutes and I left the hospital the following day as I was on an enhanced recovery

I just had a planned c section last Tuesday and for me the worst part was getting my IV placed. I normally get really lightheaded when I get my blood taken and I got lightheaded with the IV that my nurse was scared I would pass out with the spinal. 
They numbed the spot first and then did the spinal. At the end of it I said, “that was it? My IV hurt worse!”

I'm about to have a planned one aswell. We wont get the epidural though, we will get a spinal block.
