So I just had my one year anniversary with my boyfriend (he claims it’s only next month ) and we did gifts . I made him a lovely gift with a card , a tailored shirt (witch I know he liked) , a very nice perfume aftershave set from a brand he loves and he complained several times he is about to run out off , and happy socks since he loves them . He on the other hand gave me a cosmetic travel bag he got at the airport three days later . Saying he just didn’t have time and that his mom used to love them . I was so hurt from the lack of effort. He didn’t make any effort to think of something I would like . And he called me materialistic. I’m mostly even more hurt since I know he did make an effort with his ex girlfriend (when they broke up he didn’t clean up recipes, boxes and all that) so I saw it all . And it’s hard not to compare. He then apologize and said let’s go get you something whatever you want I give you a budget of 300€ . And of curse it didn’t happen since instead we went to get him a new computer. I feel like I’m not worth his effort. But then he claims he loves me so much . I didn’t ask for it as well . And I was sad that he offered it instead of making an effort and trying to pick up something I would like.
