How do you stop your kids from itching mosquito bites?

My son has really bad mosquito bites on his legs. He has has been itching them so bad that it’s starting to look like it will scar. He gets really bad reactions to mosquitos where the bites get like as big as nickels, what do you guys do to stop your kids from itching? He’s only one so he doesn’t really understand when I tell him to itch around it

My daughter gets eaten alive by mosquitoes. It doesn’t matter how much bug spray we use. I carry around a tube of hydrocortisone cream. It helps with the itching.

Benadryl cream or ointment is what my mom always used, a little rubbing alcohol can help as well, and hydrocortisone can help but I don’t think it helps as much as benedryl, especially if it gets really big

Toothpaste helps the itching. I have no idea why. I was babysitting some doctors kids and the little girl got a mosquito bite and started crying that she needed toothpaste. I was confused, but found the tube and she had me put it on her bug bite. I’ve tried it and the itching stops almost instantly! It was just like regular mint toothpaste.

Have you tried applying a topical ointment such as Benadryl? That helps me immensely.

Wipe them down with witch hazel immediately after exposure.
