How do you know that God is listening?

Question

I need God right now. I’ve recently found faith in God again (after considering myself atheist for many years) 
Please share stories on how God is real, and is listening to our prayers. Share miracles if you’ve experienced any. 
I’m loosing someone I love, I really need to hear that God is listening to me pray... and that miracles do happen...

God absolutely IS listening and has a plan for you. Sometimes that plan is hard for us to understand but every single thing is designed for His ultimate goodness. He hears all prayers but sometimes the answer isn’t what we want. One thing I would say is ask God for specific signs of His presence with you. There’s so many times in my life I could tell you about ways God has shown up, places where He’s worked both through miracles and through life/science but ultimately I think you should focus on your own stories. Ask God to help you look back through your life and point out places where He was with you and ask God to show you clearly today in some way that He’s still there now. 
One final note- science is actually a great place to see God’s presence. As much as we know there’s so many things that are mysteries and sometimes learning about those can be a really powerful testimony. Things like how a fetus’ heart starts beating, we know it starts as one cardiac cell then splits and splits and very early one cell will beat and trigger the rest but we literally have NO IDEA how that one cell beats for the first time. It’s amazing and there’s so many things in our natural world like that!

God hears our prayers but not always answers the way we expect. We have to have faith in his will. Im sorry you are losing someone you love. God can heal and God can use doctors to heal. Stay strong and continue praying.

Well, I have a story that may help...
My husband and I live in Colorado and we were about to drive over this huge mountain pass. Before heading up I had this weird feeling to stop. We saw a gas station and I urged my hubby to stop. He thought it was weird but I was like
" please, We can grab some snacks or something. I don't know, I just need us to pull over"
So he did. And when he stepped out... He noticed a tire was deflating. Within 3 minutes, it was halfway flat. 7 minutes, there wasn't air left. We would have had a flat tire on a pass, no cell service, stuck. That save was God, my friend. 
If you are up to it, I suggest going back to church and finding a small group.

If you have ever looked at somebody and realized just how much love you have in your heart for them, that’s where God comes in. We love because He first loved us. (1 John 4:19)
I pray that you will remain steadfast in your prayers and stay faithful to Him. He will guide you throughout and although some trials or circumstances in life may not be ideal, He will never leave you nor forsake you. But, always remember our minds are not His mind and our timing is not His timing. He will answer your prayers in ways that your mind may not be able to grasp instantly and it may not be as fast as you expect, but keep pressing on and fighting the good fight.

I don’t want to sound super religous but I am so sorry if this is overbearing 
So i know that god listens to our prayers and answers them if we ask with all our heart. He gives us trials not only to test us but to strengthen us as well. The trials we go through are only but a small moment.
“peace be unto thy soul; thine adversity and thine afflictions shall be but a small moment;
And then, if thou endure it well, God shall exalt thee on high; thou shalt triumph over all thy foes.”
It’s ok to be sad, we can’t deny it but we can always find peace 
“Learn of me and listen to my words, walk in the meekness of my spirit and you shall have peace in me”

I’m atheist and don’t believe. But I think it’s just inside you. You can pray and he will “be there”. I’m sorry your loosing someone you love. I hope everything gets better!

My very existence is because of God! My mom found out she was pregnant with me at 4 months (she still got spotting every month) then 2 months later I was born! (an extremely difficult but natural birth) But since I was not due for another 3 months, I was unresponsive and blue. I was called "an unsuccessful miscarriage" The Dr asked my mother where they should bury me of if she wants to. That night my mom spoke to God and pleaded with Him to spare my  life. She fell asleep and the next morning they came to her telling her that they don't know what happened but her baby is pink and responsive and totally fine. I was in an incubator for 2 months. My body is totally normal, had no illnesses or defects. Had 2 healthy pregnancies and births. So for this alone I give all honor and glory to God!! 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻💖💖💖

I went to Indonesia the first so weeks of September. In Singapore I must have dropped my passport and someone picked it up before I noticed. My boyfriend and his dad and I spent an hour, praying and looking for it. I remember a lady in our church always says that when she looses something she doesn’t find it until she prays that God helps her to find it. So we all prayed. And by His timing, we left the information desk and a man handed them my passport. As the looked at it and called out to us, I k ew it was mine because God listens to our prayers. This was was very small in comparison to many other problems out there, but God showed us that he was in control of that whole trip by having us go through that.

My niece had meningitis at three months old and the doctors said she had little chance to live. Our family had prayer and continued saying them and she recovered and has no problems. I would post pictures but
Won’t due to privacy. 🤗 
He’s up there.. continue praying.. ask him to help you know that’s he’s there and he’s listening. If you pray hard enough you’ll get an answer.
