Struggling with Sexual Frustration

I need to be a little vulnerable and personal, so I apologize for that, but I definitely need some advice and encouragement.

I’m 21, and my husband and I got married about a month and a half ago. We were both virgins when we got married, and because of that, we’re having a hard time with intercourse because of the pain I feel when we try. We’ve tried several times and have tried to work up to it, but I still have a lot of pain and sometimes get really ticklish so that we can’t make any progress. When this happens, I feel ashamed and disappointed. I thought surely we would have gotten it by now, and my husband and I are both getting increasingly frustrated with it.

What can I do to keep us moving in the right direction?
