Bleeding

So I had my period sept 12-15 this past Friday we were having sex and just after a few minutes I started bleeding quite a bit. I got really worried because that has never happened so we stopped and then the bleeding quit and I just spotted a little bit. What could it be? The doctor couldn't get me in until October 18th.
