And I think it’s because they had us give him bottles in the hospital to supplement with donor milk. He wouldn’t latch at first so they gave me a nipple extractor and a shield because my areola were swollen and my nipples too flat. Now he won’t latch to me OR the shield but the second you put a bottle in his mouth it’s go time. I don’t want to give him bottles but he won’t eat otherwise and I don’t know what to do anymore! I have done skin to skin, massaged my breast before feeding, I calm him down when he gets too fussy, I have tried different positions on both sides. I try with and without the nipple shield. I’m hoping it’s not too late as my baby is only 4 days old and my supply isn’t a problem. He just won’t latch 😩
