My boyfriend talks about his ex/baby mama basically everyday. It doesn’t matter what it is everything somehow can have her involved. I get it they were together for 5 years and she was a huge part of his life but I don’t want to hear it everyday. I told him about how I feel about it and he still does it. I’ll tell him babe please stop and he’ll keep going. If I get upset he gets mad at me and says I’m being a bitch. But if I talk about my ex (we were together for 3 years) it’s the end of the world. Am I over reacting?

My SO used to talk about his ex a lot, but it was during stories of his past. And it was because they were together 10 years and had 3 kids together. When I told him it bothered me, he didn't get upset. He just explained that she was part of his past and he wouldn't have any stories if he couldn't talk about her. Now 4 years and 1 kid in, I'm in more of his stories (at least the good ones)

My significant other talks about his ex/baby mamma and it doesn’t bother me. They have a kid together so he kinda needs to talk to me about his ex and what is going on with his baby mamma. We talk about his ex a lot. I don’t let it bother me. I talk about my ex with him sometimes with certain things ( not all the time but for example my SO was trying to get his green card and I told him that my ex got it and where he could go and get it). I’ve had to be in the same car and go into her house alone because I have to drop her child off with her. If they have a kid together I don’t think it’s that big of a deal.

I used to have this problem with my husband. Except he doesn’t have a baby with his ex. They were together for 4 years & when they graduated high school she moved across country. We’ve been together for 5 years & married almost 3. But when we first got together he started talking to her a month after we got together. I didn’t think anything of it cuz god we were only together for a month. But around the 6 month mark when I realized they were still talking, texting each other with smiley faces & him texting her while on the phone with me on his lunches at work, I had to put my foot down. I hated to be that person & I’ll prolly get bashed for it but I eventually told him it was either me or her. His mom was the worst tho. Everything she posted on Facebook about my husband his ex would comment on it & his mom would tell my husband about it. & relay messages back & forth between them. He kept telling his mom to stop after I told him how I felt about it. Well it didn’t stop. Until we got married & my father in law told my mother in law that she needed to stop being so hung up on my husbands ex cuz he’s married now & is happy. But when I was working at my old job she would literally sit in the parking lot & watch me & make sure I wasn’t talking to another guy or anything. My husband is a big mammas boy so he will listen to her  about anything she said about me. All in all it’s been a rough 5 years together. But we made it through.
