I got my ex girlfriend a promise ring for our 6 month anniversary (before I knew she turned out to be a cheater). My now girlfriend remembered one day and was very upset and accusatory asking why hasn’t she gotten one if I got one for my cheating ex. She also said why haven’t I got one to rebuild her trust (I wasn’t very consistent and loyal during the beginning of our relationship because I thought she was using me as a rebound, and that embarrassing beginning was all uncovered recently). I really see her in my future and express that a lot, I just haven’t had the paycheque recently. I’ve bought her a lot in the past, including jewelry and almost anything she asks for, is it normal that she’s so upset? She was pretty angry and sad and said now she doesn’t want one because it’s not as special because she had to ask. Should I feel guilty / is she overreacting?

Edit: I don’t want anyone slandering our character, we’ve been through a lot and I’m just trying to navigate this situation.
