Do you have a joint account with your SO?

Pros & cons?? My fiancé is wanting to get a joint account with me. So I’m thinking about it

“What’s mine is yours!” We share an account and never ever refer to it as “my money” or “your money” it’s OUR money. We strive together and we struggle together! I take care of him, he takes care of me. I think it’s all just a matter of opinion and you two are comfortable doing!

My husband and I have had a joint account since we were engaged. We lived together so it made sense to pay rent and utilities out of a joint account. All pros for us, no cons to it.

I don't suggest having a joint account unless you're married. My husband and I got a joint account once we were married.

My SO and I have a joint account for the bills we split and personal accounts as well. It’s easier that way. We got it when we moved it together

If you share a home etc it just makes sense as all bills can come out the one account. Me and my Husband have a joint account and have had for many years. We also kept our own accounts so on occasions, Birthday, Christmas etc we can buy each other gifts without the other seeing what we’ve bought.

My ex was a bank manager and even he advised against it as he has seen so many people end relationships and wipe the bank account leaving the other person with nothing.

My boyfriend and I have a joint account since we own a home together. We use it to pay ALL our bills and it’s very convenient. We also have our own separate accounts as well, for personal use. There’s literally no cons, all pros ! Good luck

When we were engaged we had a joint account plus our own separate  accounts. After we got married and i became a SAHM we made all the accounts savings and checking have both of our names on them and full access to both.

We have credit card accounts together, but our bank accounts are seperate.  We may get a joint account after marriage, but we will probably still keep our individual accounts.
