First appointment?

My first appoint is October 1st ftm and I don’t what to expect. What takes place during my first appointment??

Every place is different. At my first with my son I peed in a cup so they could do a urine pregnancy test then I got a quick ultrasound and was out the door. I was 6 weeks. My 10-week appointment we were there forever going over a million different things. I have no idea how my new office will do my first appointment, I’ll be 7 weeks 5 days and all I know is I have a separate appointment for an ultrasound first then half-hour later go see the doctor/midwife.

I would call your OB and ask. They should have told you what to expect. Mine tells me in detail how the appointment will go and also told me I need to come with a full bladder for an ultrasound.

Blood work, medical history, lots of Q&A, and MAYBE a heartbeat check.

They should take your blood. Urine sample. Do a pelvic exam. Might not do an ultrasound. All places are different. I remember being so disappointed with my very first prenatal visit and they didn’t do an ultrasound. They should give you a packet with foods and medicines to avoid during pregnancy. You also might meet with a finance person to discuss the overall cost of your prenatal care.
