C section mamas..I need help

Update: thank you to everyone who gave me advice. I ended up talking to my doctor and she said I could take it off after Monday so I am going to try to take it off tonight. My skin around it is so itchy and I can’t wait to get it off!

Has anyone had a recent c section and have a waterproof bandage covering their incision site? I was told by the hospital to make an appointment to get into my obgyn to remove the bandage in a week. But I already had a post op appointment scheduled for the 12th (18 days after baby). This is my second cesarean but the first time I’ve had this bandage on. I just want to make sure it will heal properly and with that I’m not sure if it’s supposed to be covered that long or if it needs to breath? Just checking in with others first bc the secretary at the office told me to keep my appointment but it just seems very long off.
