First iui?

Hi ladies we may be trying iui this month for the very first time. I know nothing. What can I expect? What is the process? When in your cycle do you begin the process? Thanks in advance.

I know some doctors do thing differently, but here is how it was for me. I would call when my period started and have a day 3 ultrasound to make sure I did not have any large remaining cysts. Assuming that looked good they would prescribe medication and I would go back and have a day 10 ultrasound to track follicle growth. Usually at my day 10 ultrasound they would decide when I would trigger and have the iui. I always did the trigger shot roughly 36 hours before the iui. The day of the iui is like a pelvic exam and the procedure it very quit, just a few minutes. Then you wait.
