My doctor called yesterday to tell me I failed my 3 hour test. They’re sending me to a diabetes education class but I’m wondering what to expect as far as prenatal care. I don’t see my dr again until next week 😩.

Main thing is to fully educate you on how to eat the right foods and how much throughout the day. We all start at poking 4 times x day and visits every week, but if you control your numbers it goes down to 2x day and every 2 weeks. It’s a little crazy at first (keeping a routine) but then you get used to it. I already got used to the foods I eat. You’ll do great! Stay positive and don’t stress.

You will get a lot of info on what GD is and why it happens. 
Meal planning ideas... how and when to check your sugar. A paper to record it all. 
They will go over how GD effects you and baby... and their plan of care for you. 
Usually you'll have more ultrasounds and possibly even non stress tests. You may end up on meds. They will go over possibilities for delivery. 
The 1st appt usually is pretty long and a lot of info. Dont be afraid to ask anything or ask for they to clarify things. Their concern is for healthy YOU and baby..

Depends how you do! I’ve been diet controlled and followed a normal schedule as far as seeing my OB. I’ve gotten one or two extra ultrasounds so far, I never saw a specialist or diabetes educator. It’s really all in how things go and how motivated you are
