Talking to your mom

I am really having an issue talking to my mom about my period. I really really need to go to the store and get stuff but don’t want to ask her to take me because it is so awkward. She doesn’t understand how heavy mine is so she thinks I just need panty liners. Any tips? Thanks so much!
