Welcome Phoenix

Torrie

My story is pretty boring compared to most birth stories you read

So yesterday 10-1-18 I had my regular 38 weeks check up and I was 38 +3 weeks. We went through the regular questions Any pain? No

Any contractions? No

Any swelling? No

My doctor measures my stomach and says I'm measuring about a week ahead at 39 + 3. I've been miserable and so over this pregnancy so I make a joke and say well since I'm measuring full term does that mean I can go over to the hospital for an induction today?? He laughs and says no. 👎 So then he checks my cervix and stops and says well on second thought I guess you can hea

d on over to the hospital. Wellll..... apparently I WAS having contractions and was just unaware. I was 4cm dilated and 80% effaced. This was at 12ish pm. Well I had to go check my other kids out of school and take them to my sitter(she doesn't drive) before I could come to the hospital. So I get to the hospital around 1pm and my doctor wants me hooked up and monitored... at this point I'm still not feeling any contactions. We hang out an hour and the nurse comes to check me. I'm at a 5 and still not feeling the contractions. At this point I need to move so they agree to let me walk around for an hour. During this period I start to feel the contractions but they are fairly mild.I get back to my room and hooked back up and the nurse comes to check me and I'm at a 6. I spent the next few hours laboring in my room with pretty mild contractions. Around 5pm the contactions got bad. I was crying cussing the nurses out and then apologizing for being a rude bitch 🙎at 6pm I was at an 8 and contractions were on top of each other. At 7:40 it was time to push. Phoenix was born after 2 pushes at 7:58 pm 7lbs 7oz 19 in long on October 1 st 2018
