They're wasting my breast milk...😥What do i do 😥

Taryn

Sorry for the long post and thank you to anyone who reads it and might have some advice...

I'm in a really tough situation with my daughters daycare and don't know what to do. I go to college and she goes to daycare on campus, I live three blocks from her school. She's six months and I want to come in and nurse her while she's there, since I'm so close.

I want to come in and nurse her every time she wants to eat, but I understand that sometimes she might need something to hold her over until I get there. I made a bunch of 40mL Frozen baggies so they can thaw one and give it to her if I'm running late. It's hard to pump and I try and never waste my breast milk, so this situation makes me really sad.

Today when I went to feed her, she was asleep (it was time for her afternoon nap soon and she fell asleep early at 115). I asked the breaker teacher to text me or have her teacher text me when she wakes up, since I know she'd be hungry. The teacher said it was no problem, and I went home to study at 130.

I still hadn't gotten a text at 215, so I drove up real quick to check on her. She was being offered a bottle of my breast milk, they had thawed three Frozen bags of 40mL each. Three! Her teacher said she'd been crying since she got back from lunch at 145!

I asked why no one had texted me when she woke up. I was almost crying, my baby had been hungry and wanting me and here I thought she was asleep. Her teacher said she couldn't text me because she was too busy, and she can't contact anyone at the front desk to call me because they aren't always there. So no one called me while she cried that whole time??

So I nursed her, and I guess I have to dump the bottle? I can't refreeze it! I'm so sad. I'm not the best at pumping and it was a lot of work to get that.

What do I do? If they won't contact me when she wakes up, how can I come in and nurse her?
