What do they usually do at your second appointment?

I had my first appointment almost a month ago. I was 8 weeks 6 days. They did a Pap smear (even though I just had one in April), an ultrasound, asked me questions and answered any questions I had. Now I’m 12 weeks 4 days and I go back Thursday. It’s been so long since I’ve had a baby (9 years) and things have changed so much, I don’t know what to expect anymore. What do they usually do? I know I won’t get another ultrasound until I’m 20 weeks.

Nothing really. Pretty uneventful lol. They’ll do Doppler and you’re probably far enough along to hear so that’s the best part. Pee in a cup. Blood pressure weight all that stuff. Feel your belly that’s about it I think.

12 weeks is my blood work appointment (tomorrow). Just regular stuff, no genetic testing or anything. I have my blood draw first and then an appointment with the midwife immediately after. And they ask for urine samples every time so that’s expected. I’m excited to hear the heartbeat on the Doppler! Makes the multiple vials of blood more bearable lol. Make sure to be super hydrated if they need blood.

My 12 week appt is today! I’m expecting Doppler, pee in a cup, blood work and Q&A with the Dr for any concerns.

My dr is the same way, I won’t get another scan till 20 weeks. They’ll talk to me about genetic testing when I go to my 2nd appt on Thursday so I’m thinking about getting that done to find out gender early but other than that I think they’ll just check the baby’s heartbeat

In Israel at 12 weeks we get an ultrasound to check for stuff. I cant remember exactly what they check. But they sometimes guess the gender upon request while there too.
