Anyone from the UK with high BMI?

Rebecca

I’ve just been for my first appointment with the midwife. I knew my BMI was over 35 which meant higher risk of different things. Because of this I have been told that I need to be referred to a consultant, take a lot higher dose of folic acid, take aspirin every day and have more scans. Everything she was saying scared me and I wasn’t sure what happens with the consultant? I know I’m overweight at 214lbs I wear about a size 16-18 clothes but I don’t feel huge so now I’m panicking at the fact I didn’t lose weight before getting pregnant. I was tying to loose weight beforehand but the stress of trying for over a year just got to me, I know it’s my own fault :(
