Where are all the May babies at with food?

I waited as long as I could but my little guy was soooo ready...showing enormous interest, sleeps through the night (EBF) maintaining growth in the 95th percentile...when I gave him a small taste of oatmeal he swallowed perfectly then opened his mouth for more...he’ll be 5 months old on the 8th..I’m only giving him 3 baby teaspoons a day though..I want his nutrition to come primarily from breast milk...my decision was influenced mainly on getting his gut flora ready and digestion started...slowly

Son was born May 1st. We started solids at 4 months. Ped said he was ready as well.
I opted out of the cereals just like I did with my other two children. Started him off with green beans, then peas, carrots, bananas, butternut squash, red pears, yams, and now black beans!!! 
He’s not a fan of the fruit 😂 bananas or pears!
black beans are his favorite :) 
We fed him the same foods 4 days before introducing him to anything else.

Our pediatrician suggested we start - she has two teeth, good head control and sooo much interest in our food.  She is five months next week and we have started letting her play with soft carrots.  Our pediatrician emphasized that at this age it's just letting them play with the food rather than forcing them to eat.  So far she has had about three bites of the carrot.  All her nutrition comes from breast milk.

Mine is BF and we supplement with formula. At our 4 month visit the Ped said we are very close to being ready and gave us a checklist. 
1) showing interest in food mommy and daddy are eating
2) moderately good torso control
3) loses the tongue thrust reflex
 
Ped said once baby shows those signs it indicates the gut is "closed" and baby is ready to taste food!
She just this week started trying to grab my fork out of my hand. The other 2 she's had down for a while. I'll probably still wait a week or 2. Maybe right when she turns 5mos on the 19th.

My daughter’s doctor wanted us to start rice or oatmeal cereal at 4 months, we tried it and she had a horrible allergic reaction. Also have her on Alimentum because she has a soy and milk protein allergy. She wants us to try foods at 6 months because the chance of a reaction goes down so we’ll see what happens.
