Pumping in the bathroom

Sandi

So, I picked up an overtime shift at a different group home than my regular one and told them that I pump for my baby. After the second shift left the one lady I'm working with goes into the office. Ok, fine...whatever. A few hours later I go in to see if she's ok with me pumping and I was actually told to go pump in the bathroom!!!! Apparently she has to stay in the office so she's close to the one client's bedroom. I was also told to make sure that I'm done pumping by 5am in case one of the clients wakes up. I don't get done work until 9:30am and I usually pump every 2-3 hours, but can sometimes push it to 4 hours. By time I get home from work it will be over 5 hours between pumping sessions. I'm in NJ and I know that there's laws (state and federal) in place that states that they have to accommodate my pumping (private room that's not a bathroom and reasonable pumping breaks since we have over 2500 employees). Tomorrow morning after work I'm going home, pumping, and then going up to HR about it. I'm also going to be cancelling my other shift I signed up for at this group home.
