I had my baby boy August 2nd. 6 hours after birth, he was taken away from me because he was working too hard to breathe. Come to find out he had aortic stenosis. We spent 2 weeks in the CVICU and he had the balloon procedure done at 2 days old. We got to spend a week at home before we got readmitted again because he was losing weight. This past Friday, his echo of his heart showed the valve in his heart was closing again so we have to go through another balloon procedure and just hope this one stays. If it doesn’t, then it means he will need open heart surgery with a procedure called the ROSS procedure. Which switches the valve with another in the heart. He will still need the valve replaced when he’s older but they’re trying different options before that route. His procedure will be on Thursday of next week (October 11th) and I’m a complete wreck.
