Stop, drop, and roll! 🔥

I know you’re probably wondering what the hell this title is referring to. You’ll find out very shortly.

So girls, when I was at work yesterday, I kept getting bad news, dealing with rude customers, and was overall just exhausted and ready for the day to end. My doctor called and told me my lab work showed I wasn’t ovulating. I was confused and feeling emotional, but then I remembered my other tests said I was about to ovulate. Turns out my doctor had us schedule my labs on the wrong CD even though she knew I had long cycles. Well anyway, I was stressed out trying to decide if it’s worth it to keep getting tested and retest, or if I should just give up on TTC. I was stressed from school, and just overly tired.

After dealing with all that, I got a text from my husband saying to call him ASAP. Well, I find the time to call him shortly after. I was not expecting to hear what he told me. He said there was someone honking outside our house like crazy, so he went out to check what was going on. He opens the front door, and one of our neighbors starts yelling that there is a fire in our backyard! We just moved in and don’t have a hose yet. He apparently ran to the back of the house and called 911. He then ran to our other neighbor’s house (they’re much closer) and asked to use their hose to try and tame the fire. While doing all that (with a very messed up back) he got our rake and started moving the dirt around the fire. (I guess that helps stop it?) The fire department got there quickly and took care of the rest.

At this point, I was honestly feeling defeated. Sure it didn’t touch any of our stuff- not our fence, shed, or home. BUT, my husband just got promoted. If he hadn’t been promoted, he wouldn’t have been home for another 5 hours. The thought of losing our brand new home so quickly and most importantly our two pets inside... I was just saddened over it. It also occurred to me that if no one notified him of the fire, he would have never known until it was too late. But guess what? He saw this as a sign from God. I don’t know how and I don’t know why, but he felt like he knew everything was going to be fine from the very beginning of the situation.

I just wanted to share this because... well I don’t know. To share the crazy experience with others. Life just seems to keep throwing shit our way but he always takes it so well. He was only able to get one picture. It doesn’t seem that big, but it was MUCH bigger in person. We walked around the area today because it started smoking again, and it’s so crazy it didn’t get our neighbor’s house either. It was literally only a few feet away from one of their cars.
