So this may seem super petty... My daughter's name is Genevieve. I named her that for a personal reason. My husband and I have nicknamed her Vivie. Most everyone addresses her by that or her full name. Recently, a couple people close to us have started calling her Jen, which I literally hate. My husband's mom's name is Jen and they don't have a very solid relationship... It leaves a bad taste in my mouth everytime. Don't get me wrong, if when she gets older that's what she wants to go by, sure have at it. She's her own person. But, right now I don't like it.

I really need some input about ways to politely but sternly say, please stop calling her by that name.
