How did you get your breast pump from insurance?

I’m 38weeks and freaking out I still haven’t done anything to get mine. But I just called insurance and they told me to just purchase it and they reimburse you the money after 
Is that how they usually work I haven’t really needed to call them until now with my pregnancy 
If so which is more convenient?

I just went on the website and put my insurance info in and picked a pump. They did the rest and they mail it to you.

I went through Aeroflow because they kept popping up on Facebook and had great reviews. All I had to do was enter in my insurance info and give them contact info for my OB’s office and they did the rest. They emailed me once my insurance was all figured out and gave me a list of pumps to chooses from for free or super cheap. I picked mine out and only had to pay for the  accessories I wanted for it (a travel bag and extra bottles), and I had it delivered in less than a week.

A very common site where I live is aeroflowbreatpumps.com but my insurance wasn’t listed so I used YummyMummyStore.com. You put in all your insurance info and it lists which pumps are available to you at what amount of coverage through your insurance. They needed a prescription from my doctor and then shipped it to me free of charge. I’m not sure if it’s any different dealing with your insurance directly, but this was so easy and fast!

I’m sure it all depends on your insurance but mine works similar. I can either get a prescription to get one through a medical supply store and have the cost covered upfront, or I can order one online myself and request reimbursement after baby is here. I will be requesting reimbursement since the supply store only carries medella and I want a different brand. My insurance requires that the device be bought within 60 days of birth, so I haven’t ordered mine yet either (I need to! I’m also almost 38w).

Mine told me to buy it then I'll get reimbursed. I had to wait until my due date was a month away. I can buy any type or brand I want. I can purchase from Amazon, target, walmart, wherever I want. I just need to submit a receipt and they will reimburse the full amount.

I had to go through a medical device supplier (my clinic recommended one). Got a prescription from my doctor, filled out the order form on the supplier’s website and sent them a photo of my prescription, and then they handled confirming coverage with my insurance provider. I did all that Wednesday and it should be delivered to my house Monday or Tuesday! Super easy.
